Cheboygan
A historic lumber and shipping port where the Cheboygan River meets Lake Huron, guarding the northern end of the Inland Waterway.

Cheboygan's maritime roots run deep; the city was once a crucial fueling stop for Great Lakes steamships and legendary icebreakers.

Cheboygan State Park
DNR identifies marked trails, Lake Huron views and the historic Cheboygan Point Light site. The source still carries a Yellow Trail boardwalk-closure notice with an estimated completion date; that estimate does not confirm reopening. Check directly before choosing the route.
DNR park information & notices ↗Trails need their own plan
The local chamber gathers regional trail reports and maps, including snowmobile resources. Match your activity to the permitted trail, and check access, grooming, closures and permits before leaving town.

Dining, lodging and indoor programming need additional date-specific research in this town edition. Use the chamber to choose actual businesses rather than assuming summer visitor listings will be open in winter.

Anchor your evening with a scheduled performance in the historic opera house. Main-floor wheelchair spaces and an elevator approach are available; arrange seating needs with the venue.
Taproom / Cheboygan Brewing
A downtown taproom stop changes the pace after an outdoor day. Use the current event calendar to choose a music evening rather than assuming a show every night.
