Williamston

An antique-town main street with a professional theater, craft beer, and a pleasantly theatrical approach to winter.

Overheard in Williamston
Williamston Theatre is a professional theater with a published annual season.
Why winter

Williamston offers an unusually good indoor winter itinerary for a town its size. The professional Williamston Theatre stages productions from November through March, while restaurants occupy restored downtown buildings and antique shops make cold afternoons disappear. A nearby historic inn and country bed-and-breakfast encourage a slower weekend.

The Grocery Store That Became a Theater

Williamston Theatre was established by theater professionals who transformed a former grocery store into a performance space. The company opened in 2006 and has continued producing professional theater in a small community outside Lansing. Its twentieth season runs through 2026–27, with a holiday production and winter comedy on the calendar. The grocery store is gone, but the town still comes in looking for something good.
